Parthenonflict Regrestial

Lendon 17th May 185G.

PRINTED FOR PARLIAMENT

Hi e March 1860

I'm happy to learn, from the ministerial prints, that your health is restored. Yet, although more than a month has elapsed since I last addressed you, I should still be contented to await your reply a little longer, and to rest my own Conscience upon the applauses of my own and those of the honorable profession to which I belong, for my consolation under wrongs, sustained in the discharge of my duties, as a gentleman of high standing serving the Crown abroad, in a position of no ordinary difficulty to any one discreet. I had nothing to urge upon you, at this period of your convalescence, but my personal right to consideration and redress, and an opportunity of learning the reasons, if any, which those who did the wrong have endeavored to justify themselves in Downing Street.

The Right Honble Sir Edward B. Lytton Bart M.P. M.M. Principal Secretary of State for the Colonies, Downing Street.
